Air Products Youth Cycling Programs

The summer Youth Cycling Programs are meant to introduce kids ages 8-16 to track cycling and basic track racing. These programs are split in to two categories: youth beginner and youth advanced. All participants must be able to confidently ride a bicycle without training wheels.

Youth beginner is intended for riders with little or no prior velodrome riding experience. This class centers around basic track etiquette, safety, skills and entry level racing.

Youth advanced is intended for riders with some prior velodrome riding and racing experience. This class centers around more advanced bike handling, training, and racing skills.

Youth Grass Track – When is something old something new again? The short answer is when it comes to grass track racing! Just as our traditional youth programs have been the starting point for many long and storied careers in track racing, racers who started on grass tracks have gone to become National, World, and Olympic champions in track racing. Though most grass track programs often use traditional single speed track bikes, but for our pilot program this September, we will have a “ride what you have” policy, which means BMX bikes, mountain bikes, road bikes are all welcome.

Youth Cycling Participants are required to bring their own helmets.
