The summer Youth Cycling Programs are meant to introduce kids ages 8-16 to track cycling and basic track racing. These programs are split in to two categories: youth beginner and youth advanced. All participants must be able to confidently ride a bicycle without training wheels.
Youth beginner is intended for riders with little or no prior velodrome riding experience. This class centers around basic track etiquette, safety, skills and entry level racing.
Youth advanced is intended for riders with some prior velodrome riding and racing experience. This class centers around more advanced bike handling, training and racing skills.
Youth Cycling Participants are required to bring their own helmets.
Anyone interested in becoming a VPCC coach for this or any of our other great community programs, please check out the opportunities and requirements on our coaching page!
