Inaugural WSB Concert Series Lineup Announced

TREXLERTOWN, Pa. – The lineup for the 2017 World Series of Bicycling Concert Series at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center was released on Monday morning just days before the first acts are set to perform during Opening Weekend of the 2017 season.

“We are extremely happy with the talent we have secured for the first ever concert series here in T-Town,” related Juliann Masenheimer, VPCC Events and Communications Manager. “We were overwhelmed with the number of applicants across various genres as we believe we selected some great acts to enhance the experience for our fans on Friday nights.”

All told, there are 11 different dates in the first-ever concert series with each night featuring a different act. Acts vary from bands to solo artists to children’s choirs.

Kicking off the concert series is Wicked Beaver, who is set to perform this Friday, June 9, on the season opening night of the 2017 World Series of Bicycling season. Wicked Beaver is a Lehigh Valley based band which performs covers of classic rock songs. Following them on June 10, to cap off Opening Weekend in T-Town, is the School’s Out Band, which performs a wide variety of covers from rock to funk and dance music. This is the second-straight year the Schools Out Band, based in Emmaus, is performing in T-Town.

Other notable acts in the line-up include El Sistema, which is a children’s group from the Allentown Symphony Orchestra and Peripheral Vision, who is the corporate band for Olympus. Both acts have performed at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center in the past.

The set lengths for each act will vary, however, the sets will focus heavily on Happy Hour, which is 6 p.m. until 7 p.m., with drink specials at the Beer & Wine Stand in the venue. Gates open at 6 p.m. with racing starting at 7:30 p.m. Single tickets are on sale for all events in the 2017 season at thevelodrome.com and will also be sold at the box office on the night of the event.
