Rock N Pyro to debut at Valley Preferred Cycling Center

TREXLERTOWN, Pa. – The Valley Preferred Cycling Center is set to be illuminated on Saturday night. The velodrome is hosting the debut of Rock N Pyro Entertainment’s vision of “Dark Side of the Moon” in a world-class fireworks, lasers, and special effects show on May 14.

The highly-anticipated show which is inspired by Pink Floyd’s chart-topping album highlights what is a Festival of Family Fun all throughout the grounds at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center. Gates open at 4 p.m. with the show beginning shortly after nightfall.

“I jumped at the opportunity to have Rock N Pyro here at our facility,” Juliann Masenheimer, VPCC Events and Communications Manager said. “I feel this is going to be an amazing event that has a chance to really take off. It’s unique nature and outstanding fireworks is what attracted me to it and is sure to do the same to the rest of the Lehigh Valley.”

The daytime activities include inflatables, street performers, “Be a Rock Star” competition, knockerball, and a climbing wall. The “Be a Rock Star” competition allows participants the chance to sing and play guitar karaoke-style while lights flash, cryo-jets fire and columns of 30 foot flames erupt to accentuate their performance.

The “Dark Side of the Moon” spectacular was conceived and produced by the team that creates the annual fireworks display for the popular Breinigsville Independence Day celebration. The show melds various types of effects together, including fireworks, lasers, and flames, into a single cohesive show to produce a stunningly new, and powerful, experience.

“The lasers allow us to expand the array of textures we can use to enhance and amplify the feelings and emotions evoked by the music,” Chris Hopkins, Rock N Pyro’s Creative Director and designer of the show, said. “This creates a deeper and richer emotional journey to the audience. In some parts of the album, the lasers are a much better fit with the music than fireworks alone would be, and in some cases the power and energy of the music demand both to be used simultaneously.”

Discounted tickets are available for sale now at Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the event.
