The Bicycle Racing League, driven by Schearer’s Sales & Service, commonly referred to as BRL, provides riders ages 9-16 the thrill and excitement of community-level bicycle racing through this one-of-a-kind youth cycling league.

Racers will be divided into teams led by a USA Cycling-certified coach and compete against riders with similar skills and abilities in a series of standard track cycling races. We encourage previous BRL participants, Youth Cycling participants, and licensed USA Cycling juniors to all join in the fun! Practices and races will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 – 7:30 PM in the Fall and Mondays and Thursdays 5:30 – 7:30 PM in the Spring.

Getting Started

We encourage all riders to qualify for BRL through one of our standard channels to ensure they’re comfortable on the velodrome.

First, we offer a series of introductory classes for riders who have yet to participate in BRL to strengthen their skills and understanding and ensure they are starting on an even level with their peers.

Another way to qualify is to participate in our new Try, Ride, & Race the Track program, which will be open to youths as young as 9 years old.

Completing our Youth Cycling classes will also provide riders the base they need to qualify for BRL.

Thank you Schearer’s Sales & Service!

With the generous support of Schearer’s Sales & Service and our other sponsors, we can keep costs low. BRL will cost $80 per rider and includes expert-level coaching, the use of a VPCC track bike, a jersey, and a VPCC membership allowing riders to access the track outside of BRL.
