Friday Nights Under the Lights

Friday nights in T-Town are the stuff of legend. A tradition since 1975, the Valley Preferred Cycling Center and the Lehigh Valley have hosted the very best track athletes in the world every Friday night throughout the summer for decades. Still going strong, Friday Nights Under the Lights provide a great spectating experience week in week out – and the opportunity for racers to test themselves in the crucible of our famed concrete crater.

Eligible racing categories are 1 and 2’s for men and women with invited category 3 racers on a case by case basis.

All VPCC run community programs, training sessions and racing will fully comply with all relevant current state, local and USAC guidelines. Due to the dynamic and ever changing nature COVID and these regulations, specific mandatory protocols for each program/race will be communicated directly to the registered participants per program/event. Compliance with all protocols, signage and staff instructions is mandatory for all participants.

"I was looking at the schedule and I didn't know what anything meant. Vinyasa Yoga, Ashtanga, Yin, and then there was Power Yoga. And I was like, "Right, that sounds like me. That sounds like what I need. I'm a power athlete. I'm going to this class!" So I booked it. Didn't tell anyone, I just went. I didn't want anyone to know I was going. I just went along. And it was so good. It was so hard. I was sweating. But the teacher was really, really good. And it was the first time ever that someone had told me, well, told the class, "This is an opportunity for you to not be the best, not be the strongest, not be the fastest. You don't need to be anything. You just need to be as you are feeling right now." And I was like, "No one's ever told me that. I've always been told you need to be better." And it was just so refreshing and I was like, "I need to go back." (36:14)
