One of the most robust mid-week racing series in the US, the Super Tuesdays Series at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center features weekly racing opportunities for future stars, current professionals, and amateur men, women and juniors.
Fans can cheer on their local favorites and reigning stars of the sport on the same fun night. Racers can test their legs against riders from the Lehigh Valley and from around the world in some of the deepest fields in the country all on a warm summer night.
Mass Start Super Tuesday race categories are organized USA Cycling or UCI license category – with all participants racing in their licensed category. All USAC categories (1 through 5) for men and women can race on Super Tuesdays. Juniors and Master’s racers will race their USAC licensed categories. Note that recent USAC rule changes have eliminated gear restrictions for juniors in open/categorized racing. Categories maybe combined depending on number of entrants.
Round Robin Sprint Super Tuesdays are open to all category of riders. Riders will be seeded based upon their most recent 200m TT performance. Riders will then be put in to groups of 4 and paired off for sprint rides within those groupings. Each rider will sprint every rider in their grouping once for a total of 3 closely matched sprint rides per night.
All VPCC run community programs, training sessions and racing will fully comply with all relevant current state, local and USAC guidelines. In keeping with the newly updated CDC and PADOH mask guidelines, Lehigh County has authorized the following policy regarding masks on the field of play for our venue:
Fully vaccinated individuals may race without masks. Fully vaccinated is defined as 14 days since receiving the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine OR fourteen days since receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Riders are required to provide proof of vaccination in the form of their CDC vaccination card (or photo) at the Rider Registration window for all events moving forward or until the policy is updated. Upon verification of status, riders will be issued a wristband. The registration window opens at 7:30am.
For riders who are not fully vaccinated, the mask mandate issued by the PADOH requires a mask when unable to consistently maintain six feet of distancing – which includes mass start events. Mask Mandate Section 3 provides for an exception (Section 3A) to this requirement: “Individuals who cannot wear a mask due to a medical condition, including those with respiratory issues that impede breathing, mental health condition, or disability.” Section 3B states “Individuals are not required to show documentation that an exemption exists.”
Both athletes and spectators who are not fully vaccinated are also required to wear a mask when unable to maintain six feet of distancing from individuals outside their household. This applies to both the infield and grandstands.
