Together, Joan and Andy have 30+ years of cycling experience covering event production, racing and coaching across all levels of the sport of cycling. Both have an affinity for bikes, bike racing, track racing, and sharing their love for the track as well as the people who make up the community. Whether junior, master, or elite— the Talk of the Ttown will bring you relevant information for fans and athletes alike.
Talk of the T-Town aims to bring you content that’s fun, engaging, and thought-provoking across all aspects of cycling. Joan and Andy will host a myriad of guests—athletes, nutritionists, sports psychologists, sports agents, doctors, sponsors—and who knows what else they have in store! You’ll get a behind the scenes look at Ttown, goals for upcoming programs as well as the 2021 season, how T-Town keeps motivation going, obscure UCI rules, along with plans for community programs and training.
About the hosts
Joan Hanscom is the Executive Director of The Valley Preferred Cycling Center and has devoted her professional and personal lives to the sport of cycling. An avid amateur racer herself, Joan brings her extensive experience and enthusiasm for the sport to work with her every day. Previously Joan was co-owner of the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross, the Event Director for the 2013 Cyclocross World Championships in Louisville, KY, Vice President of Event Services at USA Cycling and Marketing Manager for ABUS North America. You can find her on her bike or SUP and practicing yoga in her spare time.
Andy Lakatosh is the Athletics Director for the Valley Preferred Cycling Center. In addition to being the 2004 Olympic Team Alternate and 2008 Olympic Long Team Member, he has also medaled at the 2007 Pan Am Games bronze and 2002 Junior Worlds silver medalist. Following his international competition career, Andy founded BIG Picture Cycling, a coaching company.
