A Letter From Our New Chairman of the Board
Dear Valley Preferred Cycling Center Community,
I am honored to write to you as the newly appointed Chairman of the Valley Preferred Cycling Center. In 1974, my grandfather, Bob Rodale, set out to create a premier cycling facility in this cherished corner of the Valley.
Having experienced the magic of this velodrome throughout my life, I take great pride in fostering this community and bringing world-class cycling to our track.
My journey at the velodrome began nearly 30 years ago when I watched the Olympic Trials as a wide-eyed child, captivated by future Olympians speeding around our track. While I never mustered the courage to race myself, that moment ignited my competitive spirit, which drove me in my own athletic pursuits. These inspiring experiences are what we, as a board, strive to create for the next generation—not just for potential Olympians but for anyone seeking the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle. From weekend warriors to Olympic hopefuls, I've witnessed how the right combination of facilities, programs, and community support can create extraordinary opportunities for athletes of all levels.
As we move forward, I am excited to work alongside our dedicated staff, volunteers, and community partners to build upon this remarkable legacy. This season marks our 49th cycling season, and this fall we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bob's inaugural lap. Together, we will ensure that the Valley Preferred Cycling Center remains a beacon of cycling excellence and community engagement for generations to come.
We are eager to share our vision for the future and the exciting initiatives we have planned—none of which would be possible without the immense efforts of our staff and volunteers.
Sincerely,
Andrew Rodale Norelli
Chairman, Valley Preferred Cycling Center
