Valley Preferred Cycling Center Announces 2025 Hall of Fame Inductees

Trexlertown, PA – The Valley Preferred Cycling Center (VPCC) is proud to announce its 2025 Hall of Fame Inductee Class, honoring two extraordinary athletes whose careers and contributions have left an indelible mark on international cycling and the T-Town community: Eddie Dawkins of New Zealand and Liz Reap Carlson of the United States.

The formal induction ceremony will take place on Friday, August 29, 2025, during the Madison Cup season finale at the VPCC. The night will also feature fireworks, the Rider of the Year Championships, and a community celebration. All velodrome alumni—including riders, coaches, and officials—are invited to attend with free admission. Tickets for the public are available now at thevelodrome.com/madisoncup.

Eddie Dawkins – A Global Sprinting Force

Few riders have embodied the thrill of sprinting like Eddie Dawkins, whose explosive power and charismatic presence made him a fan favorite at T-Town.

A two-time Olympian (London 2012 and Rio 2016), Dawkins helped propel New Zealand to the world stage, highlighted by a silver medal in the Team Sprint at Rio 2016. His international résumé also includes multiple UCI Track Cycling World Championship medals, solidifying his place among the sport’s elite.

At the Valley Preferred Cycling Center, Dawkins became a crowd magnet, thrilling fans with his dominance in sprint tournaments and the keirin, while also generously giving back to the community. His mentorship, sportsmanship, and humility off the track inspired countless juniors and left a lasting impression on fellow competitors.

For his Olympic success, world-class achievements, and enduring impact at T-Town, Eddie Dawkins now takes his place among the Hall of Fame’s greats.

Liz Reap Carlson – Defying Convention, Inspiring Generations

Liz Reap Carlson represents perseverance, passion, and trailblazing commitment to cycling. Entering the sport in her 30s—when most riders are winding down—Liz built a career that defied the odds and inspired athletes across the country.

Between 2006 and 2011, she earned eight Elite National Championships, competed for the U.S. Olympic Long Team (2008, 2012), and claimed Pan American Championship medals in 2012 at age 42. On the Masters circuit, she added three UCI World Championship titles to her remarkable record.

At T-Town, Liz became a cornerstone of the VPCC community: racing more than a decade of summer seasons, coaching in the Bicycle Racing League, developing programs like Try the Track, and mentoring future stars including Mandy Marquardt and Jamie Alvord. Even after relocating to the West Coast, she continued to advance the sport—donating equipment, leading sprint clinics, and supporting velodrome facilities.

For her athletic accomplishments, mentoring, and unmatched dedication to community, Liz Reap Carlson’s induction is a testament to her enduring legacy in cycling.
