Track Experinced Riders Ages 9-16
The Bicycle Racing League driven by Schearer’s Sales & Service, commonly referred to as “BRL,” guides riders ages 9-16 with previous track experience to the thrill and excitement of bicycle racing through this one of a kind youth cycling league.
Riders are separated into categories based on their comfort, ability and performance then get to race against others in a round robin format. We encourage previous BRL participants, Air Products Developmental Cycling Programs participants and licensed USA Cycling riders to all join in the fun!
The focus of the program is right in the name: RACING! The goal is to take riders from being comfortable just riding a velodrome to building up skills, confidence and comfort with multiple styles of racing in a team setting where every athlete plays a part in the success of their team.
Introductory classes/sessions are for “New Riders” who have not participated in a VPCC program on a fixed gear bicycle within the last 2 seasons. Given the circumstances of 2020 due to COVID, we are encouraging any athlete in need of a basic velodrome/track bike refresher session to come out to one of the refresher sessions. All participants must be able to confidently ride a bike without training wheels prior to signing up for BRL.
In 2021 the BRL is only being offered in the Spring.
Our team of certified coaches manage all classes. Head coaches are CPR and SafeSport Certified, First-Aid trained and have extensive experience in bicycle racing and training.
Get your child involved in the program that has produced National, World, and Olympic Champions!
