Chip Berezny - Inducted in 2020

Chip Berezny discovered T-Town in 1979 through the Air Products development program, starting his life-long journey as a dedicated trackie and bike racer. By 1980, Chip became a fixture at the Tuesday Night Track Races: sprints, mass starts, and Madisons. By the late 1980s he advanced to consistently racing on Friday Nights.
Chip captured Pennsylvania State Championships on road, criterium, and track, and was named PA Cycling Best All-Around Rider for both road and track. In 1991 he won his first Masters National Track Title (San Diego, CA) in the Kilo, along with a number of age-group track records. Chip went on to win 10 Masters National Track Championships: match sprints, time trials, mass-starts, and tandem. He competed at the highest levels of amateur master’s track competition from 2006 to 2008 earning numerous bronze and silver medals, capping it with a World Championship gold medal in the scratch race (2008, Sydney, AUS).
Chip’s racing success was augmented by his exceptional efforts to organize, promote and direct local bike racing. For 40+ years, he organized and ran dozens of criteriums, road races, stage races, and track events throughout the Lehigh Valley. He gave thousands of bike racers the opportunity to learn and embrace bike racing. From 1995 to 2024, he organized and ran the Thursday Night Criterium Training Series at the Rodale Fitness Park course across from the T-Town velodrome.
Chip Berezny embodies the best of T-Town. His impressive racing accomplishments are only rivaled by his dedication, generosity and giving back to the sport. He has shared his lifelong passion in numerous ways, from club rides to running spin classes to developing, promoting and directing bike races for generations of cyclists.
