American Dakota Stein Takes Rider of the Year Lead as American Classic Sets Up Blockbuster Showdown Friday Night, July 3rd

Former champion faces Magnus Jamieson of New Zealand as $2,500 in premes, prize money, and ROY points go on the line

TREXLERTOWN, Pa. — The Valley Preferred Cycling Center’s Rider of the Year battle is heating up just in time for this week’s American Classic on Friday, July 3rd.

Former Rider of the Year champion Dakota Stein of Edge Cycling has taken the lead over Magnus Jamieson of New Zealand / Bike Works p/b Fred Beans, setting up a major head-to-head clash under the lights this Friday night. Both riders are confirmed to compete, with valuable Rider of the Year points, event prize money, and $2,500 in preme money on the line for the men’s and women’s fields.

Preme laps — cash awards given for winning designated laps during select races — are expected to drive aggressive, attacking racing throughout the night.

“The Rider of the Year competition brings out the best in these athletes, and this week has all the ingredients for a great night of racing,” said Gary Thornton, Executive Director of the Valley Preferred Cycling Center. “Dakota and Magnus have been two of the standout riders of the season, and with premes, prize money, and points all on the line, fans should expect fireworks on the track before the fireworks in the sky.”
