Keirin Champions Crowned as UCI Fastest Man & Woman on Wheels Concludes at Valley Preferred Cycling Center

TREXLERTOWN, Pa. — Three days of world-class international racing came to a thrilling conclusion Saturday as the UCI Fastest Man & Woman on Wheels wrapped up at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center.

The final event featured elite endurance racing, a high-speed Madison, and the always-popular Keirin, where riders draft behind a pacing motorcycle before unleashing explosive sprint finishes that can reach speeds exceeding 40 mph.

The headline races of the event were the Pro-Am Keirin Finals.

In the Women's Keirin, Nicole Hacohen Monteros of PACE timed her sprint perfectly to capture victory ahead of Valentina Mendez and Emy Savard. Hacohen Monteros posted a winning 200-meter time of 12.315 seconds.

The Men's Keirin provided a dramatic showdown between two of the competition's top sprinters. Taeho Choi of Gyeongsangbuk-do Sports Council powered to the win over James Hedgcock, while Nicholas Roberts of Edge Cycling claimed third. Choi's winning 200-meter time was 11.716 seconds.

Earlier in the event, Stephanie Lawrence of Star Track won the Women's Elimination Race, leading a dominant performance by the team as Kimberly Zubris finished second. Reagen Pattishall of Turbo Velo Pickle Juice completed the podium.

The Men's Scratch Race saw Enzo Edmonds of Star Track take the victory in a fast and aggressive 30-lap contest. Kyle Perry of First Internet Bank Cycling finished second while George Nemilostivijs of Team BSR earned third.

The Men's Points Race featured constant attacks and sprint battles throughout 90 laps. Chris Ernst of Team Canada emerged victorious with 69 points, ahead of John Borstelmann of TeamBSR Mustangs and Enzo Edmonds of Star Track.

The Women's Madison provided one of the most exciting races of the event as the Star Track duo of Stephanie Lawrence and Kimberly Zubris combined for a commanding victory with 55 points. The CCACHE Body Wrap pairing of McKenzie Milne and Lucy Reeve finished second, while Star Track teammates Mia Deye and Dannielle Watkinson earned bronze.

The UCI Fastest Man & Woman on Wheels once again brought together some of the world's best track cyclists, delivering three days of international competition and showcasing why the Valley Preferred Cycling Center remains one of the premier velodromes in North America.
