Madison Cup Champions Crowned as Valley Preferred Cycling Center Concludes Historic 50th Anniversary Season

TREXLERTOWN, Pa. — The curtain closed on a memorable 50th Anniversary season Friday night at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center as the Madison Cup once again delivered world-class racing before an enthusiastic crowd, while also honoring two of the most influential figures in the history of American cycling, Andy and Marilyn Taus.

In the evening's featured events, Kyle Perry and Aaron Beebe, national champions in the Madison, captured the Men's Madison Cup, while Reagen Pattishall and Jessica Chong claimed the Women's Madison Cup, capping dominant performances throughout the evening.

Perry and Beebe controlled much of the 100-lap Madison, consistently scoring points throughout the race before securing the prestigious Madison Cup title. On the women's side, Pattishall and Chong proved equally impressive, winning the 50-lap Madison after collecting points in every sprint to close out a remarkable night of racing.

The evening also featured a special ceremony honoring Andy and Marilyn Taus for their combined more than 90 years of service to cycling and the Valley Preferred Cycling Center. Andy played a key role in helping bring the Trexlertown Velodrome to life and went on to officiate at the Olympic Games, World Championships, and other premier international events as a UCI Grade-A International Commissaire. Marilyn's distinguished career included officiating at two Olympic Games, multiple World Championships, and serving as Chief Referee for numerous USA Cycling National Championships. Together, their lifelong dedication, leadership, and volunteer service have left an enduring legacy at T-Town and throughout American cycling.

The Madison Cup served as a fitting finale to the Valley Preferred Cycling Center's landmark 50th Anniversary season, celebrating not only elite competition but also the volunteers, officials, riders, and supporters whose passion has made Trexlertown one of the premier velodromes in the world for half a century.
