Walmart Awards $1,500 Community Grant to Valley Preferred Cycling Center; Velodrome Featured in New Storefront Mural

Breinigsville, PA — May 30, 2025 — The Valley Preferred Cycling Center (VPCC) is proud to announce it has been awarded a $1,500 community grant from Walmart as part of the retailer’s ongoing commitment to supporting local nonprofits. The award celebrates VPCC’s ongoing efforts to promote youth cycling, community health, and world-class track racing in the Lehigh Valley.

In addition to the grant, Walmart unveiled a vibrant new mural on the side of its Trexlertown store featuring local landmarks—including a prominent image of the velodrome. The mural is a visual tribute to the community’s identity and the organizations that help shape it.

“Thank you to Walmart and everyone joining here today. Moments like these remind us how valuable it is to stay connected with our community,” said Jorge Romero, Managing Director of the Valley Preferred Cycling Center. “By reaching out, building relationships, and always keeping others in mind, we not only grow our cause at the velodrome but also open the door to meaningful opportunities like this one.”

VPCC extends its sincere thanks to Walmart for the generous support and for including the velodrome in its mural—a reminder of the power of community and shared impact.
