Young Riders Shine in Mike Budjnoski Bicycle Racing League Competition at T-Town

TREXLERTOWN, PA (June 12, 2026) — The future of American cycling took center stage Friday night at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center as young athletes competing in the Mike Budjnoski Bicycle Racing League delivered exciting performances before a packed crowd during the BRL All-Star Night.

Named in honor of longtime cycling supporter Mike Budjnoski, the Bicycle Racing League continues to introduce young riders to the sport while developing the next generation of champions.

In the BRL-B Point-A-Lap Final, Ethan McDonagh of the Flames captured the gold medal after winning three of the five sprints and accumulating five points. His brother, Aiden McDonagh of the Bolts, earned silver, while Hazel Shea of the Bolts rounded out the podium with bronze.

The BRL-A Snowball Final showcased a dominant performance from Halden Jones of the Flames. Jones won five consecutive sprints to accumulate 20 points and secure the victory. John Miller of the Bolts claimed silver, while Samantha Young of the Flames finished third.

"The Bicycle Racing League is the heart of what we do at T-Town," said Valley Preferred Cycling Center Executive Director Gary Thornton. "These young athletes are learning skills, sportsmanship, and confidence while carrying on a tradition that has helped produce Olympians, national champions, and world-class cyclists."

The evening also featured elite competition from many of the nation's top track cyclists.

In the Women's Points Race, New Zealand's Lucy Reeve of Canterbury Track Cycling demonstrated her tactical strength to earn the victory with 15 points. McKenzie Milne of CCACHE took silver, while USA National Team rider Reagen Pattishall earned bronze.

The Women's Scratch Race featured one of the strongest fields of the season, with 2024 Olympic Long Team member and nine-time national champion Colleen Gulick sprinting to victory ahead of Milne and Reeve.

Pattishall returned later in the evening to claim the Women's American Tempo race, scoring 16 points through a relentless attacking effort. Three-time T-Town Rider of the Year Kimberly Zubris finished second, while Gulick completed the podium.

On the men's side, 2024 T-Town Rider of the Year Lance Abshire continued his outstanding season by winning both the Men's Tempo Race and the Men's Scratch Race.
