Jamie Alvord

Elite Men Rider

Current Residence: Allentown, Pennsylvania

Jamie Alvord is a 10-time USA Cycling National Champion originally from King of Prussia, PA. He now resides in Allentown with his wife, fellow elite cyclist Mandy Marquardt. Jamie attended technical school from 10th grade through graduation and joined Local Union 420 Steamfitters in 2008. Today, he balances life as a full-time tradesman and a full-time cyclist. He has been a member of Edge Cycling and coached by Andrew Harris since 2013.

Raised in a cycling family, Jamie began racing competitively in 2000 at the age of 10, riding and coaching alongside his father, Jim, at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center. Both his parents, Jim and Kim Alvord, were competitive cyclists in the 1980s, racing at T-Town and across the country. The velodrome has always been Jamie’s second home.

Before returning to track cycling in 2021, Jamie took a two-year hiatus beginning in 2018. Upon his return, he won the Elite Track National Championships and successfully defended his three national titles—Men’s Sprint, 1km Time Trial, and Team Sprint—in both 2022 and 2023.

In 2024, Jamie was part of the inaugural Men’s Team Sprint squad that earned a bronze medal at the Pan American Track Continental Championships at the Velo Sports Center in Carson, California. Later that year, he represented Team USA at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, where the team narrowly missed the podium with a 4th-place finish.

A proud career milestone came at the 2024 Pan Am Track Cycling Championships, where Jamie and his wife Mandy made history—both earning bronze medals in the Men’s and Women’s Team Sprint, respectively.

Fun Fact: Jamie learned to ride a two-wheeler at just 2 years old.
