American UCI Track Trade Team

Star Track’s elite race team represents a small but powerful piece of the Star Track program, which has been introducing young riders to track cycling since 2004 at the Kissena Velodrome in Queens, New York.

The Star Track afterschool program opens the world of cycling to young athletes, providing early opportunities to learn the sport in a supportive environment. To further those opportunities, the elite team was established—giving talented riders the platform to compete at the highest levels, both domestically and internationally.

In 2023, Star Track proudly launched the first American UCI track trade team in over a decade, providing its top riders with direct access to UCI competition and aiming to prepare them for the Olympic Games. In 2024, that goal became reality, with two of our riders, Grant Koontz (USA) and Maggie Coles-Lyster (Canada), qualifying for the Olympics.

Star Track riders have a deep connection to TTown—from the eight-year-old visiting the iconic velodrome for the first time, marveling at the grandstands, concessions, and under-the-lights racing, to the seasoned professional who has competed on the world stage, including the Olympics.

For many juniors, racing at TTown is a right of passage—a crucial next step in their development and a proud continuation of the legacy built by those who came before them.
